Each web browser stores a history of users' travels over the Internet. Perhaps you would prefer to keep this matter confidential. In this case, you need to clear the visit log.
Instructions
Step 1
If you are using IE7, in the "Tools" menu, select the "Delete History" option and click on "Delete History" in the "History" section. In this window, you can delete cookies, temporary Internet files and other data generated when visiting various websites.
Step 2
To clear the log in IE8, launch your browser from the Start menu and go to the Security tab. Select the "Delete log …" command. If you would like to save cookies and data from some web sites, check the box next to "Save selected web sites data". Select the checkboxes of the data from which you want to clear the hard drive, and click "Delete".
Step 3
To clear the browsing history of Mozilla Firefox older than version 3, use the "Clear Recent History" command from the "Tools" menu. In the "Clear" window, click on the arrow and select from the drop-down list the time interval that requires the log to be cleared. Expand the "Details" list by clicking on the arrow and select the checkbox for the data that you want to delete. Click "Clear Now".
Step 4
If you are using Mozilla 3.0 or earlier, choose the "Delete Personal Data" command from the "Tools" menu. Check the box next to "Delete browsing history" and click "Delete now".
Step 5
To clear your browsing history in Google Chrome, click the wrench icon in the toolbar. Choose successively "Tools" and "Delete data on viewed pages". In the new window, specify in the drop-down list the time interval for which you want to delete the data. Select the checkboxes of the file types you want to get rid of and click "Delete data …".
Step 6
To clear your browsing history, select the "History" option. At the top of the page, click the Edit List link and check the boxes next to the data you want to delete. Click Remove Selected Items. Confirm your selection by clicking OK. To return to normal mode, click on the "Done" link in the upper right corner of the page.
