Step 1
In order to avoid large additional financial costs, focus on the existing network. Configure one of the computers to act as a router.
Step 2
Select the computer or laptop to which the Internet connection cable will be connected. Install an additional network card into it (if there is none). For a laptop, purchase a USB-LAN adapter.
Step 3
Connect the internet connection cable to one of the network cards. Turn on your computer (laptop), create and configure a new Internet connection.
Step 4
Connect the other network adapter to the second computer on the local network. Open the settings of the network that appears. Navigate to TCP / IP Internet Protocol Settings. Set this network adapter to a permanent (static) IP address. Let's say its value is 134.134.134.1.
Step 5
Open your internet connection properties. Go to the Access menu. Allow other computers on the local network to use this internet connection. Click the Apply button.
Step 6
Turn on the second computer (laptop). Go to the network adapter options. Open the properties of the TCP / IP protocol. Based on the IP address of the first device, fill in the first four fields with the following values:
- 134.134.134.2 - IP address;
- 255.255.0.0 - subnet mask;
- 134.134.134.1 - main gateway;
- 134.134.134.1 - preferred DNS server.
Step 7
Save the settings changes. Reconnect to the Internet on the first computer (laptop).
