Changing access permissions on the local network of computers running Windows Server is a standard operation carried out by the standard means of the system itself and does not involve the involvement of additional software.
Instructions
Step 1
Call the main system menu by clicking the "Start" button to initiate the procedure for changing access permissions in the local network of computers running Windows Server, and go to the "Run" dialog. Enter the cmd value in the "Open" line and confirm the launch of the command line utility by clicking the OK button.
Step 2
Enter control.exe / name Microsoft. NetworkAndSharingCenter in the Windows command interpreter text box and confirm to start the Network and Sharing Center by pressing the Enter function key. Expand the "Network discovery" link and use the "Disable network discovery" option to prevent the selected computer from being located on the local network.
Step 3
Save the changes made by clicking the "Apply" button and authorize the required action by clicking the "Continue" button in the system request window that opens. Return to the Network Neighborhood dialog and expand the Shared Folders node to prevent the selected computer from using shared folders.
Step 4
Use the "Disable Sharing" option and save your changes by clicking the "Apply" button. Authorize the execution of the required action by clicking the "Continue" button in the system request window that opens.
Step 5
Return to the Network Neighborhood dialog again and expand the Media Sharing link. Use the Edit command and select the Turn off media sharing option. Confirm the saving of the changes made by clicking the "Apply" button and authorize the selected action by clicking the "Continue" button in the system request window.
Step 6
Return to the main system menu "Start" to disable the launch of the Add Network Location Wizard for the selected user and again go to the "Run" dialog. Enter the value regedit in the "Open" line and confirm the launch of the registry editor by clicking the OK button.
Step 7
Expand the "Edit" menu of the upper service panel of the editor window and select the "Create" command. Use the DWORD Parameter subitem and enter the value HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrentVersionNetworkNWCategoryWizardShow. Set the generated parameter to 0 and exit the editor.
