Step 1
Prepare everything for server installation. Make sure you have SP3 and higher for MS SQL Server 2000. For server update packages compatibility with 1C versions, check thematic forums and websites, since updates for the second are released much more often.
Step 2
Install the server and client software on the server, usually this is the second option in the pop-up program dialog box. On the disk with the DataSQL partition, select the creation of the folder of the same name, specifying it as the main one for storing data. In the future, information bases used by you in your work will be stored in this folder.
Step 3
In the installation options, select Custom. Then, configure the SQL software elements you need that you will need in the future. To do this, mark them with checkboxes in the corresponding dialog box of the system. Be sure to also check the SQL Books Online reference.
Step 4
In authentication mode, specify Mixed Mode, also specify a password. Find out more about the use of this information by the version of the 1C program you are installing. Proceed to setting the sort order.
Step 5
When converting DBF database to SQL, select the default setting value. After that, in this case, the choice of the order Cyrillic_General_CI_AS will follow. If you are migrating an infobase from MS SQL Server 7.0 to MS SQL Server 2000, you need to select the order SQL_Latin1_General_CP1251_CI_AS.
Step 6
In the Network Libraries window, specify only the TCP / IP option. After you finish installing the SQL server, proceed to the service pack installation as usual without changing any parameters.
Step 7
Configure the SQL server and client side. Open the Server Network Utility. On the settings tab with the name General, leave only TCP / IP, then save the changes. In the Client Network Utility, repeat the same.
Step 8
Configure the name of your server on the "Alias" tab. Proceed to configuring the client side on users' computers.
Step 9
Install SQL client parts on users' computers from the same distribution kit as you installed the server part. In the installation options, select Connectivity Only, and the installation of the Client Network Utility will begin. Install the service pack.
Step 10
Check connectivity using the Data Sources (ODBC) menu. On the System DSN settings tab, select the SQL Server item, go to its configuration. Enter the server name in the corresponding field. Authenticate the program user accounts by entering the login information provided on the server. Click Finish and check the data source. If the test was passed, then you did everything right.
