Despite the fairly broad capabilities of the command line utility, calling the main Start menu is not one of them, but the task of launching the selected application from the command line tool can be solved using standard tools of the Microsoft Windows operating system.
Instructions
Step 1
Simultaneously press the Win + K function keys or press the "Start" button to open the main menu of the system and go to the "Run" item to carry out the procedure for launching the "Command Line" tool.
Step 2
Enter cmd in the Open field and click OK to confirm the launch.
Step 3
Return to the main Start menu and go to All Programs to run the command line tool as administrator.
Step 4
Expand the "Standard" link and open the context menu of the "Command Line" element by right-clicking.
Step 5
Specify the Run as Administrator command and familiarize yourself with the basic commands of the tool by entering the value cmd /? into the text box.
Step 6
Locate the directory where the program selected to open from the command line is located and enter the value cd C: Program Files program_name in the text box.
Step 7
Press the softkey labeled Enter to confirm the change to the selected directory and enter the program_name.exe value in the command prompt text box.
Step 8
Confirm the launch of the required application by pressing the Enter function key.
Step 9
Return to the main "Start" menu and go to the "Run" item to perform an alternative procedure for launching the selected program using the command line tool.
Step 10
Enter cmd in the Open field and click OK to confirm that the command line utility is running.
Step 11
Enter path in the command prompt text box and press Enter to run the command to display a list of directories containing executable files.
Step 12
Select the application to be launched from the list that appears and press the Enter key to confirm the launch.
