In this case, you need to update the hardware configuration, reconnect the device and reinstall its driver.

Instructions

Step 1

Click on the "My Computer" icon with the right mouse button and in the context menu that appears, select the "Properties" tab, and in it, the "Device Manager" component. A list of devices connected to the computer appears. Click on the topmost line with the right mouse button and select "Update hardware configuration" in the menu that appears.

Step 2

Then find the line "DVD / CD drives". An arrow is located opposite this line. Click on it with the right mouse button, after which a list of optical drives connected to the computer will open. Click on the name of the drive with the right mouse button. The context menu of the device will appear, in which select "Update drivers". In the next window, select "Search for drivers automatically". The drivers will be found in the operating system and installed.

Step 3

If the required drivers were not found automatically by the operating system, you will have to use an additional program. Download the AIDA64 Extreme Edition software. Install the program on your computer and run it. After it scans the system, you will see that the program window is split into two parts.

Step 4

In the left part of the program window, find the "Data Saving" component. Nearby there will be an arrow, by clicking on which with the left mouse button you will open an additional list of devices. Select "Optical Drives" from this list. Information about the drives will appear on the right side of the program window. At the top of the window there will be information about the technical characteristics of the device, its capabilities and a list of technologies that this device supports. At the very bottom of the window, Internet links to the manufacturer's website will appear. The link at the bottom is called “Driver Update. Double click on this link with the left mouse button. A page will open in your internet browser where you can download drivers for the optical drive.
