Step 1

A more recent version of the printer driver (if one was released by the developer) can be installed either from the disk or downloaded from the Internet. In any case, make sure the setup file is available on your computer.

Step 2

To download the driver from the Internet, launch your browser and go to the official HP website at https://www8.hp.com/ru/ru/home.html (for Russia). On the Home page, select the "Support & Drivers" section.

Step 3

On the page that opens, enter the name and (or) product number in the empty field on the "Drivers and Software" tab. You can read the model and series of your printer on its body. As a rule, the manufacturer traditionally places this data on the front panel.

Step 4

Click on the "Search" button and wait until a list of matches for your request is generated. Select the driver you need from the list by clicking on it with the left mouse button. On the new page, use the drop-down list to select your operating system, click the "Next" button.

Step 5

Select the file to download and click on the appropriate link-line (for example, "HP Full Feature Software and Driver") with the left mouse button. When going to the next page, select the link line with the name of the software in the "Description and characteristics" section.

Step 6

Specify the directory to save the file and wait for the download to finish. Run the downloaded.exe file by left clicking on it and wait until all files are extracted to your computer.

Step 7

This will launch the "Installation Wizard". The necessary software will be installed automatically, all you need to do is follow the instructions of the installer. Wait for the operation to complete and click on the "Finish" button, restart your computer.

Step 8

In Windows operating systems, updating the printer driver is possible using the "My Computer" component. Click on its icon on the "Desktop" with the right mouse button and select "Properties".

Step 9

In the dialog box that opens, go to the "Hardware" tab and click on the "Device Manager" button. In the window that opens, expand the "COM and LPT ports" item and select the printer port by double-clicking on it with the left mouse button.

Step 10

In the window that opens, go to the "Driver" tab and click on the "Update" button. Follow the instructions of the "Hardware Update Wizard" to install the new version of the driver from the location you specified or automatically.
