You can often find laptops and stationary computers in which several video adapters are present at once. This architecture has become especially important after the release of central processors with their own graphics core.

Step 1
Use Windows software to quickly switch the active graphics adapter. This method will save you from having to restart your computer to change the video card.
Step 2
Install the Everest app. You can also use a free analogue - the Speccy program. Run the installed software and find out the model of the CPU and discrete graphics card.
Step 3
First, find and install the drivers for the integrated video card. Visit the developer site for your computer's CPU or motherboard. The choice of drivers depends on which device has a built-in video card.
Step 4
Install the software required to manage the graphics core. Restart your computer and make sure the device is stable.
Step 5
Now find the drivers for the discrete video card. Most of these devices are manufactured by ATI and Nvidia. Visit the websites of these companies. Complete the table located in the Downloads and Drivers section.
Step 6
Download the software suitable for the video card you are using. Install this software and restart your computer.
Step 7
Open the installed application. In the case of an Nvidia video card, this program will be called the Control Panel. Find the menu responsible for selecting the active adapter. Click on "Integrated board" or "Discrete card". Wait for the graphics device to change.
Step 8
If you are using a Radeon graphics card, launch the AMD Power Express application. It should have been installed along with the video card drivers. Select "Low Power Consumption" or "High Performance". They symbolize integrated and discrete boards, respectively.
Step 9
Configure auto-switching adapters. The change of the active device will occur when the mobile computer is disconnected / connected to the AC mains. Naturally, this option is not available for stationary PCs.
