Step 1
As a rule, changing the screen resolution is required under certain working conditions: changing the monitor, deteriorating vision, etc. The most common reason for the change is buying a new monitor or returning to an old monitor. A suitable value is selected depending on the diagonal of the monitor. The higher the monitor value, the more icons your desktop can accommodate and the smaller the font size of objects on the desktop will be.

To change the resolution of the video image, use the edit screen settings, which are closely related to the settings of the video card. Right-click on the desktop, in the context menu that opens, select "Properties". You will see the "Properties: Display" window. This window can be called in another way: click the "Start" menu, select the "Control Panel" item, in the window that opens, select the "Display" item.
Step 3
In a new window, go to the "Options" tab, in the "Screen Resolution" block, set the appropriate value. To have an idea of changing the screen resolution, take a look at the image of the two monitors in the display unit. Click the Apply button. If you are satisfied with this screen resolution, click the "OK" button in the dialog box that opens, otherwise click "Cancel".
Step 4
To sharpen the display of any kind of information on the monitor, click the "Advanced" button, in the window that opens, go to the "Monitor" tab, set the highest value of the screen refresh rate. Click the OK button.
Step 5
For better display of fonts when working with documents, go to the "Appearance" tab, click the "Effects" button. In the window that opens, select a method for smoothing screen fonts, the Clear Type item is great for permanent work with documents. Press the "OK" button 2 times.
