Knowing the IP address of a router is usually required in order to enter the operating system of this device. Also, his knowledge is necessary to connect or reconnect a computer to the Internet through a router. You can find out the IP address in the event that you have forgotten or never knew it, as follows.
It is necessary
Elementary skills of working with the operating system, if necessary, with the assistance of a manual for working in this system
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, see the IP address of your router in the data sheet that came with the device. There it should be registered right on the first page.
Step 2
If you lose your registration certificate, the IP address can be found in the “Installation Guide” of the router, which is usually found on the CD-ROM sold with the device. In this guide, you will find the IP address on one of the first pages. However, if the installation manual (which is often the case even with goods sold in Russia!) Is only in English or another foreign language that you do not speak, then you can “calculate” it like this.
Step 3
Slowly scrolling through the manual and trying to find this kind of "formula" –https://xxx.xxx.xx, where the x-s are just the numbers or numbers of the IP address of your router (for example, sometimes routers have an IP address 192.168.0.1). However, here you need to remember that the last digit or number, denoted as x, in the IP address can be one-digit, two-digit, or three-digit. All other numbers or numbers, separated by dots, are exactly as they are indicated in the "formula".
Step 4
If it so happens that you have lost the instructions and the installation CD-ROM (or they were not at hand), there is another way to find out the IP address yourself. It is as follows. Go to the "Settings" section of the "Start" panel. Then click on the "Network Connections" icon. In the open window, select the "Local Area Connection" icon.
Step 5
Enter by clicking on the highlighted “Local Area Connection” icon with the right mouse button to the “Properties” section. Highlight "Internet Protocol TCP / IP" with the cursor. Click on the "Properties" command button, which is located at the bottom of the window: the IP address of the router will be registered in the field called "Default gateway" (although it will be registered only if the computer is connected to the device).
Step 6
If you are unable to find the IP address, as recommended in the first five steps, then contact your router manufacturer or distributor support. Their phone numbers and addresses can be found on corporate websites.
