Blocking certain websites is a built-in feature of many browsers. The solution to such a problem in the Opera application does not imply the involvement of additional software and is carried out by means of the program itself or standard tools of the Windows operating system.
Instructions
Step 1
Call the main system menu by clicking the "Start" button and go to the "All Programs" item. Launch the Opera browser and open the desired web page. Open the "Tools" menu of the upper service panel of the application window and select the "Settings" item. Alternatively, you can call the same menu by simultaneously pressing the function keys Ctrl and F12.
Step 2
Go to the "Advanced" tab in the dialog box that opens and expand the "Content" link in the left pane. Expand the Content Blocked node and type the URL of the site to block in the appropriate line of the new dialog box. Confirm the execution of the selected action by clicking the OK button.
Step 3
Pay attention to the possibility of prohibiting the display of a part of the web resource provided by the Opera browser. To do this, call the context menu of the selected page object by clicking the right mouse button and select the "Block content" command. Wait for the red line with the name "Blocked" to appear on the desired site element and save the changes by clicking the "Finish" button.
Step 4
Return to the main menu "Start" to deny access to the selected Internet page by means of OS WIndows, and go to the "Run" dialog. Type% systemroot% / system32 / drivers / etc in the "Open" line and confirm the selected action by clicking OK. Find the file named hosts and open it in a standard text editor application (Notepad).
Step 5
Add the address of the site to be banned to the last line of the open hosts file and use the space character. On the next line, type the IP address of the same website and save your changes. This action will block the specified Internet resource.
