Remaining a popular means of making calls over the Internet, Skype also acts as an online messenger, automatically saving all the user's correspondence. While in other means of online communication, the message history can be easily deleted, in Skype this is not entirely the case.
Instructions
Step 1
Using other popular instant messengers, you may not save your chat history, or delete it altogether with the click of a button, which you cannot do in Skype. Skype does not offer users to delete history, and this can be done only by finding the folder on the computer where Skype stores all user data, including messages, in encrypted form.
Step 2
To find this folder, open the Start menu and select Run. If you do not find such an item in your menu, press the Win + R key combination (simultaneously pressing the key with the Windows flag and the R key). A field for entering a command will appear, where you should enter% APPDATA% Skype and click OK.
Step 3
In the window that opens, you will see several folders and files. You should be interested in a folder with the same name as your Skype message history will be deleted.
