Step 1
The command line is present in many file managers, including Norton Commander, Total Commander, and FAR. To start the game using the command line, left-click the "Start" command and select "Run" in the menu that appears. After opening the "Run Program" window in the "Open" line, enter the name of the program - "cmd.exe". Then click on the "OK" button or press the "Enter" key. The window with the line "Open" is also called by pressing a combination of two keys - Win and R. Win is a key in the lower left corner of the keyboard with the Windows symbol.

You can also open the command line using the list of standard programs. To do this, click the "Start" button and select "All Programs" from the menu. Then open the item "Standard" and from the list of programs that appears, run the necessary - "Command line".

After that, a "prompt line" will appear, which usually looks like this: C: Documents and SettingsUser _. In this case, the path to the current folder is indicated. Here C: - disk name; - the backslash character used to separate folders; Documents and Settings - directory name; User is the name of the subdirectory. Next, navigate to the folder where the game is located. To do this, use the "cd" command. For example: cd C: gamesfarcry (go to C drive in the "games" directory, which contains the farcry subdirectory). Then type the name of the executable file with the extension. For example, "farcry.exe".

If you need to start the game with any additional parameter, then the required parameter is indicated after the file name with an extension separated by a space and a "-" sign. For example, to set the "devmode" parameter in the Farcry game, type "farcry.exe –devmode".
