The hibernation file is used for the correct operation of the mode of the same name. This mode is used for the lowest power consumption, mainly in notebooks (battery power). In some cases, after disabling hibernation, the system file is not deleted.

Windows operating system
Instructions
Step 1
Hibernation or hibernation mode helps you shut down quickly so that when it resumes, all open programs will restart. Roughly speaking, this mode freezes the work for an indefinite time, but the computer's power is turned off completely compared to sleep mode.
Step 2
To disable hibernation in Windows Vista and Windows Seven operating systems, you must activate the administrator account. Then click the Start menu and select Control Panel. In the window that opens, click on the "Power supply" section.
Step 3
An applet will appear in front of you, in which the power supply is configured. Go to the "Select a Power Plan" section and click on the "Set Up a Power Plan" link. Here you need to disable hibernation, for this, opposite the line "Put the computer into hibernation", select the "Never" option. Then click the Save Changes and Close buttons.
Step 4
Also, this operation can be performed as follows: click the "Change advanced power settings" link and in the window that opens, put the "Never" option in front of the "Sleep" section.
Step 5
Disabling hibernation in operating systems of the Windows XP family is carried out through the "Properties: Display" applet. To do this, right-click on an empty space on the desktop and select "Properties". In the window that opens, go to the "Screensaver" tab and press the "Power" button.
Step 6
Go to the Hibernate tab and uncheck the Allow Hibernate option. Click on the "OK" button twice.
Step 7
For Windows XP, the problem with an undeleted hibernation file is easily solved - it can be deleted in Safe Mode. For newer systems, this is a dead end solution, so use a similar method.
Step 8
Launch the Run applet window from the Start menu, or press the Win + R key combination. In an empty field, insert the following expression powercfg -hibernate -off or powercfg -h off and click OK. After a reboot, the changes will take effect.
