3d max is a fully functional system for 3D graphics operations. Due to the wide variety of its capabilities and the high quality of reproducible objects, it can rightfully be considered one of the best in the world. When working with it, various questions may arise, for example, such as editing or adding textures. A couple of tips and a little practice - and everything will work out.

Instructions

Step 1

Create a separate folder for your textures. Write the path to it via Customize - Configure User Patch - External files - add. In this folder you will drop all textures found on the network. Thus, there will be no need to add everything downloaded to the standard library. Just keep them in a separate folder and add the path to them in the program. You can also drop textures into the Maps folder. It is registered automatically and will add the texture itself.

Step 2

To add new texture materials, open the Material Editor, then click the Get Material button. A window will open in which you need to click Material / Map Browser and set the Browse From switch in the Mtl Library. After that, click Open and specify the path to the desired file with the MAT extension. You will see the materials contained in the downloaded library.

Step 3

Use the View Large Icons mode, which can be enabled using the button of the same name at the top of the window. This will give you a better view of the content. Once you have selected a material, drag and drop it into the Material Editor.

Step 4

To add volume to textures, press the M button, at the bottom of the window in maps, press the second none, click on Bitmap and set your textures. After that click on Modifier List and select Map Scaler. There will be a Scale parameter that you can choose as you like depending on the desired effect.

Step 5

Open the material editor and in the Asset Browser utilities (where the image of the hammer is). In the Asset Browser, find the texture you want and simply drag it onto the material sphere. This will automatically add the desired texture.

Step 6

Use the tutorials to work with the 3d max program. There are a great many of them on the net. Some of them can be found at the links www.3dray.ru, www.mir3d.org.ua, www.civfantastics.ru.
