If the operating system starts to work unstable, this is not a reason to reinstall it immediately. There is a way by which you can restore the normal operation of the operating system much easier and faster. Plus, you don't have to reinstall all the drivers and necessary programs, since all the information that is on the system disk is completely saved. This method is called System Restore.
Necessary
Computer with Windows OS
Instructions
Step 1
The method, of course, is not universal, but it can help in many cases. All operating systems, from Windows XP to Windows 7, have the function of rolling back the operating system to an earlier state. That is, to the state in which the operating system worked stably and without failures. From time to time, the operating system automatically creates special restore points. Also, restore points are created when installing or uninstalling programs.
Step 2
Click Start. Then select All Programs and Accessories. Then go to the "Service" tab. Select "System Restore" in the utilities. A window will appear where you can select a restore point. Each restore point is tied to a specific date. You need to select the restore point that roughly corresponds to the date when the computer stopped working stably.
Step 3
If you are using Windows XP as your operating system, then after selecting a restore point, click "Restore". If you have Windows 7 or Vista installed, then after selecting a restore point, click "Next" and then "Finish".
Step 4
After that, the system recovery process will begin. There will be a bar on the screen that will show the progress of this process. You will not be able to use your computer during the recovery process. Do not restart or shut down your PC until it is finished. After completing this process, the computer will restart and start normally.
Step 5
After starting the computer, a window will appear in which there will be a notification that the system has been successfully restored. A situation may arise when in this window there will be a notification that the system could not be restored. In this case, repeat this procedure again. If the second attempt also fails, then you need to select a different system restore point.
