One computer can have multiple network connections. This often leads to confusion. Typically, one network connection is sufficient. Sometimes by accident it is possible to create multiple network connections to the same type of internet connection, which is not recommended. Therefore, unnecessary internet connection profiles must be deleted.

Step 1
First, you need to identify the active Internet connection that is currently in use, so as not to accidentally delete it. To do this, left-click the "Start" button in the taskbar and select the "Control Panel" menu. Then find the Windows Firewall tab on the menu. Click on it with the right mouse button. A window will open. All active network connections will be shown here, both public Internet connections and LAN connections.

Pay attention to the Active Social Networks tab. Opposite this line is the name of the profile of the active Internet connection with which you access the Internet. Remember or write down the name of this profile. If you use a local network (home or office, not necessarily with Internet access), also write down or remember the name of the profile opposite the line "Home or work networks". Please note that the name of some terms may change depending on the version of Windows. For example, instead of the name "Public Networks" there may be the term "Global Networks" The essence does not change from this.
Step 3
Next, open the "Network Connections" folder. In order not to look for it in the toolbar, you can press the F1 key. A folder will open with access to all network connections that are on the computer.

Delete all network connections you don't need, except those that were active in Windows Firewall (the name of the profiles that you wrote down). To delete, right-click on the "Network Connections" folder. A context menu will appear, in which select the "Delete" command. If necessary, from this folder, you can set the "Default Connection" or send a shortcut to the network connection to the desktop.
