Sorting
The easiest way to remove empty rows from a table is to sort the columns. To do this, select the range in which the table is located. Call on the toolbar "Home / Sort" and "Filter / Sort from minimum to maximum". Blank lines appear at the beginning of the table. They can be selected and removed.
When using sorting, there is a danger that cells with data may jump to another row, so be sure to set the marker in the dialog box to the position of automatic range expansion. In this case, sorting will occur line by line.
Using a filter
A filter can be used to detect empty cells. To set a filter, select a column and call it on the "Data / Filter" toolbar. Then filter the values in the column by selecting the position in the filter with empty cells. Now the table will display only empty cells that need to be deleted.
Using the selection function of a group of cells
Another standard way is to select a group of cells. To do this, select the selection tool on the "Home / Find and Select / Select a Group of Cells" toolbar. A dialog box should appear, in which it is necessary to mark the selection of empty cells. Then select "Home / Cells / Delete" from the menu. All empty cells will be deleted.
If a row contains filled cells in addition to blank cells, Excel 2007 will display a message stating that the delete command is not applicable for overlapping ranges.
Using macros and add-ins
To solve the problem of deleting empty rows from a table, you can use a macro or add-in specially created for this purpose. A macro is a procedure written in the VBA programming language.
