Any software product has its own numerical designation that allows you to determine when it was created, what components were included in its composition. This identifier is commonly referred to as the product version. You can find out the version of the program in several ways.
Instructions
Step 1
To find out the version of the program, run it in the usual way. Wait until the download is complete. Select Help or Help from the top menu bar. In the drop-down menu, find the "About" item (or the line with the name of the open application) and click on it with the left mouse button. In the window that opens, you will see the information you are interested in.
Step 2
If the program does not provide a menu bar, go to the directory where the program is saved. Select the program startup file (with the.exe extension) and right-click on its icon. In the drop-down menu, select the "Properties" item and click on it with any mouse button - a dialog box will open. Go to the "Version" tab and get the information you need. Do not confuse the icon of the file itself with the icon of its shortcut (for example, located on the desktop).
Step 3
To find out the version of the operating system installed on your computer, go to the "Control Panel" from the "Start" menu. In the Performance and Maintenance category, select the System icon. If the panel has a classic look, select this icon immediately - a dialog box will open. Go to the "General" tab - the information you need will be contained in the first section. You can also open this window using the method described in the previous step.
Step 4
If you need to find out the DirectX version, call the DirectX Diagnostic Tool. To do this, call the Run command through the Start menu. In the empty line of the dialog box that opens, enter dxdiag without spaces or quotes and click OK or press Enter. Wait for the diagnostic tool to finish collecting data. See the System tab for DirectX version information. To get information about the version of the installed video card driver, go to the "Display" tab.
