Most computer owners have to use one or another anti-virus program. Without constant anti-virus protection, the chance of getting "unwanted guests" on your computer is very high. However, sometimes there are times when the antivirus has to be removed for some reason, and this process does not always go smoothly. The program may "not want" to be removed, or not completely removed, which will subsequently lead to errors.
Necessary
Computer, Kaspersky Anti-Virus, Kaspersky Lab product removal utility kavremover.exe, basic computer skills
Instructions
Step 1
If the program "refuses" to start the uninstallation procedure, check if it is currently running. If the antivirus is running, you must turn it off. To do this, open the program control window by clicking on its icon in the taskbar in the lower right corner of the screen. Select "Exit" and confirm the decision. After that, the antivirus can be removed.
Step 2
If the above procedure did not help, or the antivirus was not completely removed, use a utility developed specifically for such cases by Kaspersky Lab. It is called kavremover.exe and you can download it from the developer's website. It is constantly updated, support for new products is being added, so you need to download it immediately before you start uninstalling the program. Just download and run it. The uninstallation process will take some time. Be sure to wait for it to complete.
Step 3
If several different Kaspersky products are installed on your computer, and you only need to remove some of them, run kavremover.exe via the command line. To do this, press the Win + R key combination, in the command prompt window, click the Browse button, specify the location where the utility is located, and add the -nodetect switch. If the utility is located on drive D, the line will look like this: D: kavremover.exe -nodetect. Press Enter and in the window that appears, you can choose which products you want to remove.
