The operating systems Windows XP and later have built-in the ability to install numerous language packs that are available for download on the official Microsoft website. You can add the one you want, if this was not done automatically during the installation of the system.
Instructions
Step 1
Select the languages you want from the list during Windows setup. This parameter is often ignored, therefore, upon completion of the installation, the system may be in English or another language.
Step 2
Make sure you have a configured internet connection. In some cases, Windows will automatically load the correct language during installation. Also, carefully read the description of your system version: the licensed discs usually indicate the languages that can be installed by default.
Step 3
Try manually setting your preferred language using the supplied Windows boot disk. Go to its root directory and look for the Languages folder. Click on the executable file in it and specify the settings that suit you. An internet connection may be required to set the language.
Step 4
Go to the Start menu, select Control Panel, then Set Time, Language, and Region, and click the Regional and Language Options tab. Select Languages and Keyboards, then Add / Remove Languages.
Step 5
Follow the instructions on the screen to initialize the download and install the language pack, and then save it to a convenient location on your computer's hard drive. Once the download is complete, the language can be set to the default for the operating system.
Step 6
Visit the dedicated page for installing language packs on the Microsoft website, scroll through the list until you find the one you need, and click on the Download link. Make sure the language pack is appropriate for your operating system.
Step 7
Select the "Install language" option, then close your browser and navigate to the folder where you saved the downloaded files. Run the installation and follow the onscreen instructions to complete adding the new language.
