Microsoft Excel provides users with great functionality for editing spreadsheet data. You can make all sorts of changes using text data and formulas to obtain specific numerical values. There is also an option that allows you to pin the desired control in the program window, which will make it easier to enter data and change documents.
Instructions
Step 1
The upper panel of the program allows you to edit the contents of the spreadsheet. By default, the panel is docked and displayed along with all the tabs and icons needed to complete a particular task. To unpin a panel and hide it, you can use the special up arrow, which is located at the bottom right of this panel.
Step 2
To return the area to the expanded, docked state, you can click on the downward-pointing button to re-display the controls needed to control the interface.
Step 3
To pin only the panel tabs and remove icons, you can click on the window icon with an up arrow, which is located in the upper right corner of the interface, to the left of the button to minimize the window. This will increase the usable space of the edited document on the screen. Select Show Tabs or Auto Hide Ribbon to change display options.
Step 4
In addition to the top panel, you can pin some lines of the table, which will be shown when scrolling the document. Highlight the line that you want to anchor on the screen when scrolling. To do this, click on the corresponding line pointer in the left panel of the program.
Step 5
Go to the "View" tab, where click on the "Freeze Areas" button located in the "Window" group. You can also freeze an entire column for horizontal scrolling. To do this, select the "Freeze first column" item. To keep only one line visible, select Freeze Top Row. The docking of Excel panels is complete.
Step 6
To remove the docked area, go to the menu "View" - "Window" - "Freeze Areas" again. Click "Unpinned Areas" and click "OK".
