Remote Desktop allows you to connect to your home or work computer from anywhere using another computer and the Internet or local area network. After connecting, you will have access to all the functions of the connected computer, as if you were behind it.

Step 1
To connect to a remote desktop, you can use both standalone programs and built-in Windows tools. Let's consider the connection using the example of a standard program that is installed by default with the operating system. First of all, you need to allow remote connection on the computer that you plan to use remotely. Make sure you are logged in as Administrator. Right-click on the "My Computer" icon on your desktop and select the "Properties" menu. In the "System Properties" select the "Remote Use" tab. Enable the "Allow remote access to this computer" option.
Step 2
To enable remote access to your computer, you must be a member of the Administrators group or the Remote Desktop Users Group. In order to add a user to the "Remote Desktop User Group", you need to log in as "Administrator". Then right-click on the "My Computer" icon on your desktop and select the "Properties" menu. In the "System Properties" select the "Remote Use" tab. Click the Select Remote Users button. In the window that appears, select "Add". In the window for entering the name of the objects to be selected, enter the name of the user you want to add, or click the "Advanced" button and then "Search". This will find all the users that are present on your system. You can also change the search location and search for users on the web. After adding users, click the "Ok" button.
Step 3
If you plan to connect remotely to the "Administrator" account, you must set a password for it. Go to the address: "Start" -> "Settings" -> "Control Panel" -> "User Accounts". Select the computer administrator account and click Create Account Password. Enter the code in two fields, click "Apply". Remember or write down the entered password.
Step 4
After the necessary settings, you can connect to the remote computer. Launch "Start" -> "Programs" -> "Accessories" -> "Communications" -> "Remote Desktop Connection". In the remote connection window, in the "Computer" line, enter the name or IP of the computer to which you can connect remotely. Click "Connect" In the Windows Welcome window, enter your username, password, and domain, if required. Click "Ok".
