Most modern mobile computers are sold with an operating system preinstalled. This is usually Windows Seven and Vista. If you have a desire to install Windows XP on your laptop, then you should be prepared for the possible complications of this process.

Instructions
Step 1
The main problem with installing a relatively old operating system is the lack of drivers for some devices. More often than not, there are no necessary files to successfully read a hard disk. For Acer laptops, use the Paragon Disk Manager utility.
Step 2
Download the ISO image of the multiboot disc containing this utility. It is worth noting that other programs may be located on the disk. This will not affect the performance of the Disk Manager utility.
Step 3
Burn the ISO image to DVD using Nero or Iso File Burning. Insert the resulting disc into the laptop drive and turn on the mobile computer. Open the BIOS menu and set the boot priority from the DVD drive. Find the SATA configuration menu and select the ATAPI option.
Step 4
Reboot the device and wait until Paragon Disk Manager starts. Delete all partitions on your hard drive. Create new volumes with FAT32 or NTFS file systems.
Step 5
After completing the described operations, remove the disk with the Disk Manager program and insert the installation disk of the Windows XP operating system into the drive. Restart your laptop and complete the system installation following the step-by-step menu prompts.
Step 6
After completing the installation of the operating system components, insert the disc containing the Sam Drivers (Driver Pack Solution) program into the drive. It is best to take care of creating such a disk in advance, because after installing Windows XP, the laptop's network adapters may not work correctly.
Step 7
Install the required drivers for your mobile computer devices. Be sure to create a system restore point first. This will restore the operating state of the OS in case of installing the wrong drivers. Restart your laptop and check the functionality of important devices.
