Installing the Windows operating system on a laptop is not much different from performing a similar task on a stationary computer, but still there are some nuances you should know.

Windows installations are usually done from a CD, and many users make the mistake of inserting the disc and starting the installation right over the old system. This should not be done, because, in doing so, you fill the system partition of the hard disk with unnecessary data, creating chaos instead of order.
Step 2
To do everything right, it is extremely important to install bypassing the old system, and completely removing any reminders about it, formatting drive C. Therefore, before installing Windows, copy all important information to another partition on your hard drive, or to external media. Don't forget to export your address book, Outlook email, bookmarks from your browser.
Step 3
Once you are sure that you have nothing more to lose, restart your computer. While turning on, hold down the F2 key (for most laptops), or F3 (for Sony and Dell), or Esc (for Toshiba), or F10 (for HP Compaq), or Del (for some laptop models), and you will be taken to BIOS is the basic system of a computer.

Do not miss the moment of the first reboot during the installation process, enter the BIOS again and change the boot parameters, returning them to their original form.
