Instructions
Step 1
Let's consider as an example the creation of an installation (bootable) USB flash drive with the operating system Windows 7. There are many ways, but we focus on only two. In any of them, you will need a Win 7 installation disk image.
Step 2
First, let's look at an example of creating a bootable USB flash drive using a special utility. Download the UltraISO program. It is quite simple to use, but it has the necessary set of functions.
Step 3
Format the USB stick before you start working with it. Start the UltraISO program. Click the File tab and select Open. Specify the Windows 7 disk image.
Step 4
Now go to the "Boot" tab and select "Burn hard disk image". In the Drive Disk field, specify your USB flash drive, select the USB-HDD + recording method. Click the Burn button. Please note that the flash drive will be automatically formatted.
Step 5
If you do not have access to the Internet or the ability to download programs, then create a multiboot USB flash drive yourself. Open a command prompt. To do this, press the Win and R keys. Type cmd in the field that appears and press Enter.
Step 6
The command line menu appears on the screen. Format the USB stick and create a boot sector. To do this, type the following commands: Select Disk 1 (or 2, if the flash drive was identified by the second disk)
Clean
Create partition primary - create a boot partition.
Select partition 1 - select the active partition.
Active
Format FS = NTFS Quick - fast formatting of the flash drive.
Assign
Exit.
Step 7
Now you need to copy the boot files of the system to the USB flash drive. To do this, type in the command line E: (E is the letter of the DVD drive). Enter the CD BOOT command. To create boot files, enter the command bootsect.exe / nt60 F: (F is the drive letter).
Step 8
Copy the entire contents of the installation disk or its image to a USB flash drive. Reboot your computer.
