Instructions
Step 1
Start by installing a software program that monitors temperature changes for critical devices. There are a huge number of utilities to carry out this process. The most popular ones are: Speed Fan, Speccy, AIDA, PC health. Select the appropriate program and install it on your computer.
Step 2
If you do not want to use third-party utilities, turn on your computer and open the BIOS menu. Open the Status menu and view the readings of the built-in sensors. The disadvantage of this method is that you cannot estimate the degree of heating of the device during active operation.
Step 3
Open the case of the system unit and find the faulty fan. It should be noted that if the fan blades are not spinning, this does not mean that the fan is broken. Make sure the power cable of the cooling unit is plugged into the correct connector.
Step 4
Rotate the blades with your finger to make sure the device is not dirty. Close the block case. Reboot your computer. Re-enter the BIOS menu by pressing the Delete key.
Step 5
Open the Advanced Settings menu. Find the Fan Control submenu. Set the Always On option. This method is especially relevant when working with mobile computers. In these devices, coolers can be automatically turned off to save energy.
Step 6
Start the Windows operating system and install the Speed Fan program if you have not done so before. Open this program and go to the first tab.
Step 7
Set the rotational speed of each cooler yourself. To do this, fill in the required fields by setting values from 1 to 100. Minimize the program window, but do not close it.
Step 8
Open Control Panel, select "System and Security". Open the Power Options menu. Turn on the "Active" mode in the cooling parameters settings. Prevent shutdown of coolers to save power.
