You can change the operating parameters of the computer fans using special programs. They usually allow you to select the desired rotation speed to ensure optimal cooling of the internal devices.
Necessary
- - SpeedFan;
- - AMD OverDrive.
Instructions
Step 1
If we are talking about a mobile computer, then first try to reduce the speed of the fans using the power mode settings. Open Control Panel and select the System and Security tab. Go to the Power Options menu. Select the power plan you are currently using and click the "Settings" button.
Step 2
Go to the "Change advanced power settings" menu. Expand the Processor Power Management submenu and find the System Cooling Policy entry. Select passive mode for mains and battery operation. Click the Apply button and close this menu.
Step 3
If the fan speed has not decreased enough, then install the Speed Fan program. It will allow you to more accurately adjust the parameters of the coolers. Run this utility and wait for the status of the required devices. Change the rotational speed of the blades of the required coolers using the arrows opposite the names of these devices. Be extremely careful. Remember that poor quality cooling can lead to overheating and failure of individual components.
Step 4
Activate the "Autospeed" function. This will allow SpeedFan to automatically adjust the blade speeds to provide the required cooling of the parts without wasting energy.
Step 5
When working with a laptop, it is better to use the AMD OverDrive program. It allows you to get full access to most mobile computer devices. Open the Fan Control menu and set the required speeds.
Step 6
Be sure to save the specified parameters of the fans before closing the program. Periodically check the temperature readings of important components of your computer. This will allow timely increase in the degree of cooling, preventing overheating of the processor or video adapter.
