Symbol - from the Greek "sign", "identifying omen" - a synonym for the word "sign". In principle, a symbol can be any graphic sign: a letter, number, punctuation or other sign, but more often it is used to denote a sign that is not included in the main keyboard layout: degree, degree, logo, or something else. A special tab is used to insert a symbol in text documents.
Instructions
Step 1
To insert a character in a word processing document, in the top toolbar, find the Insert tab. Next, find the "Symbol" group.
Step 2
Click on the tab. Select a symbol from the suggested (most common) ones or click the "More Symbols" command. In the window that opens, scroll through the list of symbols and find the desired symbol. Click the "Insert" button, then "Close".
Step 3
Sometimes, to insert a symbol, it is enough to press a combination of the "Shift" keys and another key with the symbol image.
Step 4
Use the special character tables to insert a character into your blog post. These tables show the symbols themselves and their code designation. One of these tables is located under the link under the article. To write a character, open the HTML compose page and type in the code for a specific character.
