Instructions

Step 1

To hide all users of the Windows XP operating system when starting the computer, you must use the Registry Editor. Today there are a large number of programs that create a backup copy before using the registry files, for example, Reg Organaizer. The use of additional software may not be justified because not every program is free. Therefore, it is better to use the Regedit utility built into the standard system kit.

Step 2

Before editing the registry, you just need to create backups manually. Third party programs do it themselves. The program is launched through the "Run" applet, in the empty field of which you must enter the regedit command and click the "OK" button. Also, the registry editor is launched through the context menu of "My Computer".

Step 3

In the main window of the program, click the top menu "File" and select "Export". You will see a window for saving registry files. In the "Export range" block, check the box next to the "Entire registry" item, then select the directory, enter the file name and click the "Save" button.

Step 4

Now you can change registry settings without fear. On the left side of the window there are registry branches, and on the right side there are parameters. On the left side, open the HKEY_LOCAL_MASHINE registry branch by clicking the "+" icon opposite the heading. Then open the following folders in sequence: Software, Microsoft, Windows NT, CurrentVersion, Winlogon, SpecialAccounts, and Userlist.

Step 5

In the right part of the window, right-click on an empty space, select the "New" section, then the "DWORD Value" item. The title of the new parameter should be the name of the account, for example, Admin or Petrovich.

Step 6

Double click on the new parameter and enter the value "0" to hide the account name; value "1" to display the account name in the welcome window. To open the window for entering the login and password of your account at startup, you must press the key combination Ctrl + alt="Image" + Delete.
