You can change the system time when the computer is booted using the appropriate BIOS option, or simply by correcting the time directly in the Windows graphical interface. The procedure for changing the system clock in Windows Vista and Windows 7 is slightly different from that used in earlier OS versions.
Instructions
Step 1
For Windows 7 and Windows Vista operating systems, first double-click the clock in the right corner of the taskbar to access the system time setting.
Step 2
Click the inscription "Change the date and time settings" located in the window that opens below the calendar and clock. In this way, you will open another window with the inscription "Date and Time" in the title.
Step 3
Open the next window on the way to the desired setting by clicking the button labeled "Change Date and Time". Pay attention to the shield icon on the left side of this button - this means that access to change this parameter is possible only if the user has full system administrator rights. A field for changing the time will be placed in the right pane below the round clock in the window that you open.
Step 4
Click on the hour indicator if it needs to be adjusted. Set the correct value by entering the desired numbers using the keyboard or by clicking the arrows at the right edge of the field, or using the up and down arrow keys. Correct the minutes and seconds in the same way.
Step 5
Click the "OK" button to commit your changes.
Step 6
If you are using Windows XP, you can access the system clock setting immediately by double-clicking the clock in the taskbar. This action opens the "Date and Time" tab, in the lower right part of which there is a field for setting hours, minutes and seconds. You just have to do the operations described in steps four and five.
Step 7
It is also possible to open this operating system component from the program launch dialog - this operation works the same in any of the three systems. To use this method, press the WIN + R key combination or select the Run line in the main menu on the Start button. Then enter the command timedate.cpl, click the "OK" button and proceed to setting the time as described in steps four and five.
