Date and time in Windows operating systems are necessary not only for users, but also for most programs. Regardless, the user can change the date and time settings as they see fit.
Instructions
Step 1
Left-click once on the date and time display at the bottom right of the screen on the taskbar. A window will open containing a calendar, analog and digital clock.
Step 2
In the window that appears, click on the line "Changing the date and time settings …" with the left mouse button once. The "Date and Time" dialog box will open, containing settings for the current time, date, additional clock and time synchronization with Internet sites.
Step 3
You can open the "Date and Time" window by right-clicking on the time and date display in the lower right part of the screen on the taskbar and selecting the "Date and Time Settings" line from the list that appears.
Step 4
You can also start the window with the time and date settings by opening the "Start" menu and clicking once with the left mouse button on the line "Control Panel". In the window that opens with the settings of various system parameters, find and click the line "Date and time".
Step 5
There is another way to launch the Date and Time window. To implement it, open the "Start" menu and enter the query "time" or "date" in the search bar "Find programs and files". In the list that appears, left-click once on the "Date and Time" line.
Step 6
In the window that opens, activate the "Date and Time" tab. It displays the active time zone, settings for daylight saving time and back, system date and time, and links to help files for the most frequently asked questions about time zones.
Step 7
Click the "Change date and time …" button. The "Set Time and Date" dialog box appears. In this window, select the required day, month, year and set the exact time. Click the Ok button.
Step 8
If the operating system unnecessarily changes the time to daylight saving time or vice versa, then you need to disable the function of going through the date and time settings window. To do this, uncheck the box next to the line "Automatic transition to summer time and back."
