A widget is a small application, the interface of which occupies a small area on the screen and displays this or that information or allows you to quickly carry out certain actions. If the widget is no longer needed, you can delete it.
Instructions
Step 1
In most desktop operating systems, you can remove the widget from the screen through the context menu. To do this, move the mouse arrow to it and press the right key. In the menu that appears, select the "Delete" item or similar. After that, the widget will disappear. Note that some widgets cannot be removed this way.
Step 2
In touchscreen mobile devices, widgets are even more widely used today. Most mobile operating systems are operated with a long press. Press and hold the widget until it shrinks with the rest of the widgets and icons on the screen, and a white outline frame appears around it. Now it can be moved within the current page of the main screen, as well as to its other pages. And if you move it to the trash can symbol that appears at the top or bottom of the display, it will be deleted.
Step 3
Please note that removing a widget from the screen does not remove the associated program. Therefore, by running this program again or by selecting the menu for adding widgets, you can immediately return it to the same or another place on the screen. But the old settings of the widget will not be saved - it will have to be configured again. And if this or that widget was placed on the screen in more than one instance, deleting one of them will not affect the rest of the instances.
Step 4
Finally, if you no longer need a particular widget at all, uninstall the related program from your computer or mobile device. How to do this depends on the OS you are using. All instances of the corresponding widget will disappear from the screen. Please note that if the program is paid, you should take this step with caution - if you want to return the widget, you may need to pay for the application again in the app store. And if your Internet is not unlimited, you should not forget about the traffic that will be required to re-download even a free program. However, some widgets themselves consume a lot of traffic.
