In the event of an operating system failure, inexperienced users prefer to install a new copy of it. This process takes a lot of time, given the fact that it becomes necessary to install all the necessary programs.
Necessary
Windows installation disc
Instructions
Step 1
For emergencies, Windows operating systems provide a recovery function. Its use is possible only if you did not disable automatic backups or enabled checkpoints yourself. Insert the Windows installation disc into your DVD drive.
Step 2
Reboot your computer. Press the F8 key several times. Wait for the new menu to appear. Highlight DVD-Rom and press Enter. Let the program prepare some files from the disk for further work.
Step 3
If you are using Windows XP, then in the first menu select "Recovery". To do this, press the R key. After launching the selected menu, select one of the previously created control points. Click the "Next" button and wait until the operating system recovery is complete.
Step 4
If you are using Vista or Seven operating systems, select the language of the installer from the first menu. Click "Next". Go to the Advanced Recovery Options menu.
Step 5
In the new window, select "System Restore". Wait for the collection of information about the existing operating systems. Select the copy of Windows you want and click Next. Click on the desired control point and click "Next" again.
Step 6
If you created an archive of a system partition, then in the "Recovery options" menu, select "Use a system image". Connect the device that stores the OS archive. If you used DVD media to burn the image, insert the first disc into the drive.
Step 7
Click "Next". Wait for the operation to complete. When using DVD media, periodically insert the next disc in order. After restoring the system, select the option to boot from the hard drive.
