Before reinstalling the operating system, choose a safe place to temporarily store your browser bookmarks. This can be removable media or any of the drives that will not be formatted during the reinstallation process. When a safe place is determined, you can proceed to the procedure for saving bookmarks. The sequence of actions depends on the browser used.

Step 1
In Opera, expand the "Bookmarks" section of the menu and click "Manage Bookmarks". The hotkeys CTRL + SHIFT + B are assigned to this action, you can use them. The bookmark management window has its own menu - open the "File" section in it and select the "Save As" item. In the file save dialog, specify a safe storage location and a name for the bookmarks file, and then click the "Save" button.

In Mozilla FireFox, you can use the same hotkeys CTRL + SHIFT + B or open the Bookmarks section of the menu and click Manage Bookmarks. The window for managing bookmarks here has its own menu - open the section "Import and backup" in it and click the line "Backup". In the save dialog, specify the desired location and file name, and then click "Save".
Step 3
In Internet Explorer, they are saved using the "Import and Export Wizard". To launch it, open the "File" section in the menu and select the "Import and Export" item. In the first window of the wizard, just click the "Next" button, in the second - click the "Export favorites" line in the list under the "Select an action" inscription and click "Next". Then the wizard will offer you to choose between full saving or saving individual folders and will indicate the default storage address. You need to click the "Browse" button and specify a safe place. Then click "Next" and in the next window click the "Finish" button to start the save process.

In Apple Safari, clicking on the "Export Bookmarks" line in the "File" section of the browser menu immediately opens the file save dialog. Specify the desired storage location and file name, and then click the "Save" button.
