Even modern versions of Windows operating systems contain bugs. To fix them, Microsoft regularly releases software updates. These updates can be installed in a variety of ways.
Necessary
access to the Internet
Instructions
Step 1
First, activate the automatic file update program for the Windows operating system. Log in to the OS using an account with administrator rights. Open the Control Panel menu.
Step 2
Follow the link "System and Security". Select the Windows Update menu. Open the item "Parameter settings". If you are using a relatively powerful computer, enable the "Install updates automatically" feature.
Step 3
Remember that when you work in this mode, the application will download and install important files on its own. Sometimes this process can be accompanied by a restart of the computer.
Step 4
If there is a constant load on the personal computer, it is recommended to use the sparing mode. Activate the option "Look for updates, but I make the download and install decisions." This will allow you to choose the time to install new system components yourself.
Step 5
Check the box "Recommended updates" to automatically fix important, but not critical errors in the operating system. Click the Ok button. And restart your computer.
Step 6
If you do not want to use the automatic OS update function, follow this procedure yourself. Open the Windows Update menu. Click the Check for Updates button.
Step 7
Wait for a while while you are presented with a list of available updates to download. Select the required file packages with checkmarks, for example, only critical (important) updates.
Step 8
Now click the Ok button. Wait while the highlighted file bundles download and install. Confirm restarting your computer if required. After turning on the PC for the first time, some updates will be installed. Typically, this process does not take more than 10 minutes.
