Necessary

  • - Crosshead screwdriver;
  • - tweezers.

Instructions

Step 1

Turn on your computer and hold down the Delete (Del) key. After entering the main BIOS menu, find and highlight Use Default Settings. Press the Enter key and confirm the operation. Remember that after that absolutely all settings will be reset, including the new parameters of the CPU and RAM.

Step 2

Sometimes errors occur when booting the PC in the case of improperly performed overclocking. If you are unable to access the BIOS menu, then use the mechanical reset method. Unplug your PC from AC power. Remove the cover of the system unit. Locate the small, circular battery on the motherboard and remove it.

Step 3

Using a metal tool, close the contacts in the socket. Install the battery and turn on the PC. Try to enter the BIOS menu. If the login procedure is successful, then reset the settings again as described in the first step.

Step 4

Accessing the BIOS battery when using a mobile computer is not easy. Sometimes this battery is simply soldered into the socket. In such cases, the system board should have BIOS reset buttons. They are usually labeled Reset CMOS or CMOS Default. Access the motherboard of your mobile computer. To do this, either unscrew the screws and remove the bottom wall of the case, or remove the keyboard (depending on the manufacturer of the laptop and the specific model of the device).

Step 5

Click the desired button and build your computer. Sometimes the functions of the buttons are performed by a special jumper. Find the contacts next to which there is an inscription Reset CMOS. Remove the jumper and short the pins. Sometimes it is necessary to move the jumper to another pair of connectors.
