Terminal Service in Windows is used to connect multiple users to one computer. With its help, a remote desktop works, remote administration and fast user switching are carried out. This service can potentially pose a security risk to your computer, so if you are not planning to use Remote Desktop, it is best to disable it.

Step 1
The list of currently running Windows services and those that are not currently running is collected in a separate component of the operating system. It provides the ability to disable and restart any of them. There are several ways to display the window of this component. In Windows 7 or Vista, the easiest way to do this is using their built-in internal search engine. To do this, open the OS main menu and type a couple of letters - "sl" from the keyboard. The necessary link will appear in the top line of the search results - "Services" - click on it with the mouse or just press the Enter key.
Step 2
There is another, longer way to this list - through the "Control Panel". Open it using the appropriate item in the main menu of the OS, then click first the link "System and Security", then "Administration". An additional window will open, in the right frame of which you need to double-click the "Services" object.
Step 3
Having opened the list in one of the listed ways, find the line “Terminal Services” or Terminal Services in the “Name” column and select it. To the left of this column, a description of the selected service and a "Stop" link will appear - click on it to stop this service. The same command is duplicated in the context menu - you can right-click the service line and select "Stop" from the pop-up list of commands.
Step 4
Another way to access the list of services is using the Start Programs dialog. To call it, either select the "Run" item in the main menu, or press the "hot keys" Win + R. In the dialog window, type msconfig and click on the OK button. As a result, a settings window of five tabs will start - select "Services". Find the required name in the left column and uncheck the checkbox. Then click the OK button to commit the changes to the system settings.
