Step 1
Several programs can perform this operation to capture the screen during video playback. Let's start with the most popular and affordable - Media Player Classic. This program is included in the K-lite Codec Pack, which is distributed free of charge. After starting the program, click the View menu - click the Options item.

In the window that opens, in the left column, select Playback - Output. On the right side of the window, you need to change the values of the RealMedia Video and QuickTime Video blocks from DirectX to System Default.

Open the movie by clicking the File menu - Open item or by using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + O. Start playback. Pause when you reach the desired frame from which you want to take a screenshot.

After that click the File - Save Image menu. In the window that opens, select a save location for your screenshot. You can also choose between two file formats (bmp and jpg).

An equally popular player is VLC Media Player. In order to take a screenshot using this program, after launching it, you need to go to the settings of this utility. Click the Settings - Preferences menu.

In the window that opens, in the left column, select the Video item. On the right side of the window, click the "Browse" button opposite the "Captured stills folder" item - select the folder where your screenshots will be located. Click the "OK" button 2 times.

After restarting the program, start any movie. Pressing the key combination Ctrl + alt="Image" + S, you will achieve the creation of a screenshot. Also, this action can be performed by clicking the menu "Video" - "Take a picture".
