A photo from a monitor is called a screenshot. Screenshots are very useful if you use them as illustrations for instructions, or if the content captured in the screenshot was later deleted. You can take a photo from the monitor using both standard operating system tools and third-party software.
Instructions
Step 1
To take screenshots, a special button called PrintScreen is provided on the computer keyboard. This button is usually located to the left of the F12 key. In order to take a screenshot of the screen, you just need to press this button, and the image will be placed in the clipboard of the operating system. On laptops, this key usually has two functions, and the screenshot function is only activated in combination with the Fn function key. And if you need to take a screenshot not of the entire screen, but of a separate window, then when you press PrtSc (or the Fn + PrtSc combination), you will also need to press the Alt key.
Step 2
After placing the photo from the monitor into the clipboard, launch any graphics editor (Photoshop, Paint) and create a new file in it. After creating a new file, press the "Edit" - "Paste" commands in sequence, or the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + V. Choose how to insert the screenshot - as a new layer or as a new image. After that, click "File" - "Save As …" and save the photo from the monitor in the required format and quality. The resulting image can be opened on a computer like a regular photo, uploaded to the Internet, that is, you can do everything that can be done with ordinary images.
Step 3
Screenshots can also be taken using a variety of programs, including free ones (such as SnapaShot). Such programs, in addition to creating screenshots, can perform tasks for the simplest editing of the resulting images. It is convenient to take screenshots of web pages using special browser extensions, which also have the ability to edit directly in the web browser window. Some programs even allow you to capture animated content of web pages or monitor screens.
