The computer provides many possibilities, but at the same time it is fraught with some dangers. The most vulnerable organ when working at a computer is the eyes. Even the most modern monitor, if incorrectly set up, can have a detrimental effect on vision. The image on the monitor is refreshed with an average frequency of 65-100 Hz (65-100 times per second). This is enough for comfortable work, otherwise unpleasant flickering appears.
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, you need to make sure that the flickering is not the result of a breakdown of the monitor. In this case, there will be other symptoms besides flickering. In this situation, the solution to the problem will be a service center or buying a new monitor.
Step 2
In most cases, monitor flickering occurs when the video card drivers or the monitor itself are not installed correctly. After reinstalling the system, after replacing the video card, after a system failure, even when rebooting with the CRT monitor turned off, drivers may crash. The way out is simple. Right-click on the "My Computer" shortcut, go to "Properties" -> "Hardware" tab -> "Device Manager". Here we are interested in 2 items: "Video adapters" and "Monitors". Exclamation marks should not light up opposite these items, and when you open them, you should see the name of the device. The opposite means a problem with the device drivers. It is necessary to find and download drivers for your equipment, usually they are available on the manufacturers' websites. The brand of the device can be viewed on the device itself. After installing the drivers or if everything is in order with them, proceed to the next step.
Step 3
Monitor flickering can be removed by increasing the refresh rate. To do this, right-click on the desktop and go to the address: - For Windows XP. "Properties" -> "Options" tab -> "Advanced" -> "Monitor" tab. In the line "Screen refresh rate" set the value to at least 60 Hz. In addition, you can change the screen resolution by setting a value of at least 1024 by 768 (for monitors with a 4: 3 aspect ratio, for the rest, the recommended resolution is indicated in the operating instructions). - For Windows7. "Screen resolution" -> "Advanced options". In the line "Screen refresh rate" set at least 60 Hz. The absence of such parameters or the ineffectiveness of changing the refresh rate indicates problems with the video card drivers, or with the video card itself. Go back to the previous step.
