The PlayStation Portable, or PSP, is a popular video game console from Sony. Games for it are released on UMD-format optical discs specially created for this set-top box. It is not supported by personal computers, but this limitation can be bypassed.
Necessary
- - Personal Computer;
- - emulator;
- is a game for PSP.
Instructions
Step 1
So, to run a game for the PlayStation Portable on your personal computer, you need an emulator program that is used to create a virtual device that simulates this gaming platform.
Step 2
A lot of such emulators have already been developed, there is no point in listing. It is worth noting that they are not universal, that is, each specific emulator allows you to play a limited number of PSP games, a list of which is posted on the emulator download page.
Step 3
After figuring out which emulator supports your chosen game, download it. There is another option though - choose the Jpcsp emulator. The list of games supported by it is very long, so chances are good that your game will load without problems. Just using this emulator as an example, we will consider the situation.
Step 4
To run the program on your PC, make sure that the Java platform is already installed on it. If it is not installed, download it by entering a phrase like “download java” in the search engine and following the link to the download page for java from the official site. Then install.
Step 5
After downloading the archive, open it and left-click (LMB) twice on the jdk.exe file, thereby launching it. Make a single LMB click on the Jpcsp.exe executable file, then in the pop-up window, hover the mouse cursor over the line "Open with …", and then select the Java (TM) Platform SE binary. The program will start.
Step 6
If the image of the game you want to run has not been downloaded yet, do so. There are a lot of resources on the Internet with images of games for various platforms. Just before downloading the required image, make sure that you have an antivirus on your PC, it is installed, and the databases are up to date.
Step 7
After downloading the game to your PC (usually a zip or rar archive), click on the "Open file" button in the main menu of the Jpcsp emulator. Next, a dialog box will open - specify in it the path to the game image (already unzipped), then click on the "Select" button. Next, the file will be processed by the program, and you can start playing.
