The Microsoft Office Excel editor used to work with spreadsheets allows you to enable or disable the display of individual rows or columns, as well as their groups, or even entire sheets. This operation consists of two main actions - selection of the required cells and setting the visibility properties. Each of them can be implemented in several ways.
Necessary
Tabular editor Microsoft Office Excel 2007 or 2010
Instructions
Step 1
Start Microsoft Office Excel, load the document you want, and navigate to the area of the table that contains hidden rows or columns. You need to start the operation by selecting the cells before and after the hidden area. It is not necessary to select all rows or columns, two cells are enough.
Step 2
You can determine the location of hidden columns or lines by gaps in the numbering. If you need to display hidden cells in the entire sheet, there is no need to waste time searching, it is easier to select the entire table. To do this, click on the cell where the row and column headings converge, or press the key combination Ctrl + A.
Step 3
If you need to display the initial columns or rows of the table, do it like this: first enter in the leftmost field of the formula bar - "Name" - the value A1 and press the Enter key. Then click the first - top left - visible cell of the table, while holding down the Shift key.
Step 4
Having selected the required cells in one of the described ways, give the command to display hidden rows or columns. To do this, in the "Cells" group of commands on the "Home" tab, open the "Format" drop-down list and in the "Hide or show" section select the "Show rows" or "Show columns" command.
Step 5
This command can also be given using the context menu - right-click on the selection and select the line "Show" in the pop-up menu. But for this item to appear in the context menu, the entire rows or columns must be selected, and not individual cells.
Step 6
There is another way to display hidden rows or columns. To use it, open the "Format" drop-down list on the "Home" tab and select "Row Height" (to display rows) or "Column Width" (to display columns). In the only input field of the form that appears, specify the required size and click OK.
