Making a collage isn't just about combining multiple photos into one. The correct collage shows the skill of the author, and also demonstrates his ability to beautifully and competently arrange photos so that it looks stylish and attractive. A collage will be successful and noticeable, in which there are no noticeable boundaries between the photos - instead, the photos seem to flow into each other. This effect can be achieved by performing simple operations in Adobe Photoshop.
Necessary
Adobe Photoshop program
Instructions
Step 1
Open two photos of approximately the same size that you want to combine into a collage.
Step 2
Press the V key to activate the move tool, and drag one photo onto the other so that they are both in the same window on two different layers.
Step 3
Select the top one in the list from the appeared two layers, and then add a vector mask to it (Add layer mask).
Step 4
A mask icon in the form of a white square will appear next to the photo thumbnail in the layer row. Click on it to activate the layer. The icon will be surrounded by a black border to indicate that it is active.
Step 5
From the toolbox, select a gradient and indicate the direction of the gradient by drawing a line from the lower-right corner to the upper-right corner. You will notice how one of the images starts to bleed through the other where you drew the corner gradient.
Step 6
Experiment and change the length and width of the gradient until you are satisfied with the result and the images flow smoothly and beautifully into each other in the place where you want to see the transition.
Step 7
To achieve the desired effect, use the gradient only when the layer mask mode is activated - otherwise, you will not succeed.
Step 8
Exit mask mode by clicking on the thumbnail of the photo in the layer after your collage is ready.
Step 9
Merge layers and save the collage in the desired format.
