Sometimes, when copying text from one file created in MS Word to another, non-printable characters appear in the last document, for example, page breaks or pressing the Enter key. They can be removed by formatting the original document.

Instructions

Step 1

Most often, the problem lies in the pressed button for displaying such characters. Try clicking this button, which is on the standard toolbar. If panels are not displayed in the editor, add them: click the "View" top menu, in the list that opens, select the "Toolbars" section and click the "Standard" item.

Step 2

In the added panel, find the Non-Printable Characters icon and click it. If your computer monitor is less than 17 inches (diagonal), it is most likely that the icon simply did not fit into the panel row. At the end of the panel, find the arrow icon and click it, the tab that opens will display all the elements that did not fit on the panel.

Step 3

If the paragraph marks are still there, you can remove them manually or using the Snippet Find component. For manual deletion, simply place the cursor behind the unwanted character and press the Backspace key or in front of it, but at the same time press the Delete key.

Step 4

To automatically remove all unwanted characters, press the key combination Ctrl + F. You will see a small search window for a fragment. Go to the "Replace" tab and in the first field, enter the copied fragment that you want to delete, and leave the second field blank. Press the Enter key. After completing the delete operation, a window with the results of the actions performed will appear on the screen.

Step 5

Also, unnecessary characters can be deleted using special keyboard shortcuts. Select the desired fragment of text or symbols, press Ctrl + X. Thus, you can cut out unnecessary fragments that occur in the text.

Step 6

Unnecessary parts of the text can be cut, and the necessary ones can be copied and, if necessary, almost pasted into another empty file. For example, after selecting the text, it is enough to press Ctrl + C or Ctrl + Insert. Inserting text is carried out using the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl + V and Shift + Insert.
