When you press the "enter" key, Word automatically wraps the text on a new line and writes a paragraph mark in invisible characters. The program considers a paragraph exactly as a character to wrap the text on a new line.

- Computer
- Word text editor
Instructions
Step 1
How to remove a paragraph character. When converting from *.txt format to *.doc format, you can observe a situation in which Word perceives text line breaks as a new paragraph. In this case, the text is forcibly torn, and it is rather difficult to format it. In this case, you have to remove unnecessary paragraph marks manually.
Step 2
You can automate the process a little by writing a special macro if the text is large, or by manually looking through all the paragraphs using the "find and replace" menu function. In this case, in the line "find" you need to put an invisible paragraph symbol by selecting it from the extended menu, and in the line "replace" - an invisible space character.
Step 3
How to remove the text of a paragraph using the "delete" or "backspace" keys When editing texts, a situation often occurs when you need to remove an entire paragraph or combine two paragraphs into one. In the second case, it is enough to simply remove the extra space between the lines using the "delete" or "backspace" keys. In the first, you first need to select a paragraph to show the program what to erase in the future.
Step 4
Selection is carried out using three clicks of the right mouse button, hovering over the text of the required paragraph. Then you can press the already known "delete" or "backspace" keys, and the text will be safely deleted.
Step 5
To select a paragraph, and not one, but many, you can use the arrow keys and the "shift" key. To do this, press "shift", and while holding it, move up or down with the arrows, thus denoting the selection. The selection is erased with "delete" or "backspace".
Step 6
How to erase paragraph text using the Ctrl + X keyboard shortcut There is another way to erase selected text. True, this will not be the final deletion, but the so-called "taking the text into the buffer (pocket)". This is done using the combination of the Ctrl key and in the Latin layout of the X key. This combination is denoted as follows: Ctrl + X.
Step 7
When these keys are pressed simultaneously, the previously selected text is deleted, but not completely, but into the program memory, and if desired, it can be extracted from there by pressing another key combination: Ctrl + V.
