You can superimpose the original image on another (background) image using a photomontage in Photoshop. Having two photographs, in just a few simple steps, you can get a fundamentally new image - a collage of primary photographs.

Instructions

Step 1

Open the selected images or photos using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + O.

Step 2

To overlay one image on top of another, you need to make sure that the dimensions of the original and background images match. To do this, select the command: "Image" / Image - "Image size" / Image Size. Or just press Alt + Cntr + I.

Step 3

If the dimensions of the image differ, you need to "fit" the size of one image (better than the background one) to another by changing its width and height in pixels in the corresponding fields. If necessary, you can uncheck the "maintain proportions" checkbox. To prevent the background image from becoming distorted or blurry, you should not significantly change its size and proportions.

Step 4

Copy the Background layer of the original image using the Ctrl + J keyboard shortcut.

Step 5

Apply to the created layer the command "Image" / Image - "External channel" / Apply Image.

Step 6

In the window that opens, in the Target / Recipient field, the name of the image with which we are working is indicated. For "Source" / Source select the name of the second image. In the field "Layer" / Layer select "Background" / Background. In the "Channel" / Channel - RGB. Set the Blending to Overlap and the Opacity to 100%.

Step 7

If you need to "erase" the background layer on the local area, click on the "Add Vector Mask" icon in the "Layers" / Layer palette. Then select the Brush Tool and adjust the resulting image.

Step 8

The new image is ready.
