Very often, for the subsequent processing of photos, designers have to convert them into drawings in vector format. Lately, vector graphics have become quite popular among amateurs, especially when it comes to converting an image into a monochrome vector.
Necessary
Adobe Photoshop
Instructions
Step 1
To make a vector image, open its original version in Adobe Photoshop. To translate a specific element into vector format, make sure it is on a white background. Use such program options as "eraser" or "magic wand".
Step 2
Select the shape using the appropriate tool of the program, then move it to a new layer. Give it the name "Figure". Create a new layer and name it "Background". In the panel, move the layers so that the "Background" position is below the "Shape" position. Merge the two created layers to create a new layer. Name it "Base".
Step 3
Use the Isohelium Tool to create a black and white silhouette for the Base layer. On the same layer apply the Isogelium Adjustment Tool. To do this, make the following set of commands: Image -> Adjustment -> Threshhold. After that apply the Diffuse Filter Filter -> Stylize -> Diffuse to smooth the jagged edges. To make the outlines of the lines clearer, decrease the distance from the center of the right and left sliders Image -> Adjustment -> Levels. Then scale the entire image up to 300%.
Step 4
For the Base layer, reapply the Image -> Adjustment -> Threshhold technique. Creating a vector image is not an easy task, but the result is worth it. What to do next? Create a new layer and give it a new color. In the panel, move it in order below the "Base" layer. Next, change the Blending Mode for the "Base" layer to Difference.
Step 5
If you are satisfied with your work and think that it doesn’t need any correction or revision, start creating a vector image”. To do this, select the "Save As" function and select the appropriate file extension from the provided list of possible options.
