Often, archives are split into several constituent parts in order to make them more convenient to send, for example, to a forum or any other resource where the size of a file attachment is limited. Also, this method is widely used to write large files to removable media.
Necessary
WinRar program
Instructions
Step 1
Download the WinRar program if it has not been previously installed on your computer. Start the installation process, follow the steps required by the wizard-installer, and perform file association for quick access to the program menu.
Step 2
To create an archive from parts, open the folder with the file you need. If there are several of them, place them for convenience in the same directory. Select them or the folder they are in with the right mouse button. Click on the WinRar menu and select "Add to archive".
Step 3
In the small window that appears on the screen, enter the name of the archive in the appropriate field. It is best to specify it in Latin if you are going to send files over the Internet. Configure the archive parameters on the adjacent tabs, if necessary, set a password and encrypt the content, this is convenient if its content is intended for a specific person and cannot be sent personally. In the main tab, using the "Browse" button, if necessary, add the files that you forgot to include in the archive.
Step 4
Break the archive into parts. Please note that in new versions of the program, you are provided with the size of the archive part already indicated in the possible options, it is indicated in bytes and serves as a template for splitting, for example, with subsequent recording on a CD / DVD, floppy disk, and so on.
Step 5
Make sure that the archive parameters are configured properly, click OK. After creating the archive, check if possible if everything works correctly and unzip in the opposite direction. To do this, select all the parts and select the "Unzip" menu item. Extract the file after specifying the directories for its future location. If possible, check if it works after unzipping it.
