Even in the most modern computer literally any element can fail. The reasons may be different: voltage drops, poor quality workmanship, etc. Some elements need to be repaired, some not. It is important to determine which particular part is out of order and to replace it in a timely manner for the full operation of the computer.
Instructions
Step 1
Start your personal computer. In the event of a malfunction, the BIOS speaker will emit certain signals. This is the first sign. Look at the instructions for BIOS notifications. With its help, you can determine what the malfunction is. It is possible that this is a burned-out processor, although, as a rule, such a malfunction is very rarely generated by such notifications. If you turn on the computer, all the coolers are working, and the monitor for some reason does not turn on, then do not rush to identify your video card as the weak link. If it fails, the BIOS will certainly let you know about it.
Step 2
Disconnect power from your personal computer. Disassemble the system unit. To do this, unscrew the fastening screws on the side panel and slide it towards the back of the system unit. Remove the screws securing the cooler to the radiator. Then remove the radiator.
Step 3
To do this, open the special latch. All this is needed in order to make sure that the processor is broken. After you remove the heatsink, in the event that the processor is really burnt out, you will feel a characteristic odor that is difficult to confuse with any other.
Step 4
Also inspect the surface of the motherboard around the socket. It may be blackened. Try applying thermal grease to your processor. Apply in a thin, neat layer. Then reassemble the system unit and try to start the computer again. If the monitor does not light up, then the likelihood that the processor burned out is very high.
Step 5
Connect your processor to another computer. But keep in mind, if your processor is really faulty, there is a risk of burnout of the motherboard. To prevent this from happening, do not keep the computer turned on for a long time. Before starting another computer with your processor, be sure to apply a thin layer of thermal paste to it and the heatsink.
Step 6
Start your computer. If the monitor lights up, then all systems are functioning normally and your processor is healthy. If this does not happen, then the processor is out of order and you will have to replace it.
